Scott's Online Marketing Blog
Scott has worked in the interactive marketing field from about the time the world wide web came into existence as we know it today. He brings over 12 years of Interactive Marketing experience to DMIdeas, coming from well known and successful companies who have online presence and expertise. His past experience includes almost two years as the Director of Production for LATimes.com where he managed all of the production and operations for the LA Times web properties. These include LATimes.com, as well as specialty sites such as TheEnvelope.com and CareerBuilder.com. His role included the creation of process and procedures for effective communication and completion of online marketing projects. He recruited and built a project management team while managing the creative, technical, ad-operations, and customer service teams. His position also included liaising with central Tribune Interactive resources on corporate-wide initiatives.
Prior to working with the LA Times, Scott spent six years as the Director of Interactive Technology for Young & Rubicam's Irvine office. In this role he worked on a variety of interactive marketing initiatives for their clients. His team was responsible for creating online initiatives which ranged from brand websites and kiosks to integrated marketing campaigns with direct mail and email marketing components. Scott also designed a targeted metrics and online media delivery system for implementation on client sites that saw an increase in lead generation of between 3-10%, depending on the client. Some of Scott's clients at Y&R included Lincoln, Mercury, Land Rover, Jaguar, MSN, XBOX, Callaway Golf, and SONY.
Prior to his years at Y&R Scott was involved in the "birth" of online marketing with companies like LanguageForce, where he was their eCommerce Director, and Harte-Hanks Shoppers where he was their Internet Development Manager and Dailey & Associates where he was one of their first internet engineers. He also did private internet and eCommerce consulting with a variety of firms during the late 90’s.
Scott has communicated unique advertising messages incorporating emerging technologies for most of his career. He has experience inspiring high quality work from groups as small as 2-3 and as large as 18-20. Scott has an MBA from the University of California, Irvine, and two BA degrees from the University of California, Riverside. He has also participated in more than a dozen management training seminars and workshops in his career, both as a presenter and as a participant.
